The site chrome: a header and a footer drawn around every page.

Each is a presentation (a Template, its settings and a Component), but the Delivery API serves a presentation only as a page or as a field of another document, never alone by id. So the two are the fields of one small standalone Component, ebitex-site-chrome, which is fetched by its external id once per session, the way ebitex’s own site fetches its header and footer. Each half is checked on its own: one that is missing, unpublished or malformed draws nothing and never takes the other down.
