Where the token is kept between visits. The SDK calls set only while ebitex reports that this device may be
recognised, and calls remove when recognition is denied or withdrawn, and when the device is forgotten. Writing an
identifier to a visitor’s device needs their consent first, which is why persistence goes through this adapter and is
never done behind your back. Methods may be asynchronous.
