Keeps the token in a first-party cookie on your own site: Path=/, SameSite=Lax, Secure on https, and a
lifetime no longer than the token’s. It is readable by your own scripts (it has to be, so that the SDK can send it),
which is why a token on its own unlocks nothing.
Outside a browser (during server rendering, for example) it does nothing and reads nothing.
